Hey folks, I’m looking into industrial coatings for a couple of large storage tanks we’ve got at our facility, and honestly, I’m overwhelmed by the options. Epoxy, polyurethane, zinc-rich primers—there's just too much out there. The last coating we used started peeling in under three years, so I definitely don’t want to repeat that. What should I be prioritizing for durability? Any specific features or brands you swear by?

I’ve managed several industrial projects across Ontario over the past decade—everything from water treatment plants to grain silos—and coating failure is always a top concern. From what I’ve learned, longevity usually comes down to two things: surface prep and choosing the right system for your environment (line painting company). I’ve had really good results using services from Coastline Painting, especially when we needed specialized coatings like elastomerics or high-performance urethanes. Their team walked us through every layer—primers, sealers, finish coats. If you're dealing with steel, I’d recommend looking into zinc primers with a urethane topcoat. And NEVER skip sandblasting or proper etching before application. It seems minor, but prep makes or breaks the whole thing.
