Not sure if anyone else has run into this, but I’ve been burned too many times by Ethernet extenders that just… give up after a few months in rough environments.
I recently came across Enable-IT Ethernet Extender https://enableit.com/ethernet-extender/ - looks like they build everything in the US and actually design for harsh installs instead of pretending a server room is the real world.
Anyone here used their stuff in the field? I’m curious how they hold up long-term.Or if you’ve got other brands you swear by, I’d love to hear.
Anyone dealing with long-distance networking should really look into coax to Ethernet solutions. Instead of tearing out old cabling, you can leverage existing coax for major cost savings. Plus, it's typically outdoor hardened and delivers superior performance for Ethernet or PoE extension—up to 1.5Gbps compared to 1.2Gbps on twisted pair.
Enable-IT has a great lineup worth checking out: https://enableit.com/coaxial-cable-with-ethernet-to-coax-adapters/
I’ve tried both, honestly. Sometimes I’m just looking for fun, casual conversations or light connections, but other times I’m more serious and interested in dating locally to build something meaningful. Meeting people nearby makes it easier to see if there’s real chemistry beyond the screen. It’s nice to have options and be open to whatever comes naturally without pressure.
Honestly, a bit of both. I’m open to whatever happens naturally. If something clicks, great. If not, still cool to meet people.
