Has anyone noticed that the Instagram "followers" count can randomly go down? I want to know exactly who unfollowed me and when, not just the number change. I’m open to third-party tools, but it has to be safe and accurate. Suggestions?

Yeah that's super annoying when you follow someone back and then they unfollow you later. Instagram doesn't make it easy to see your follow-back status with people. I was following way too many accounts that weren't following me back and it was messing up my ratio. I found a tool to unfollowers track and check who's actually following back and who isn't. It shows you exactly which accounts you're following that don't follow you back so you can clean up your following list. Really helped me keep my account organized and focus on mutual connections instead of one-sided follows
That story saver tool sounds helpful. I'm dealing with a different issue though - I keep following people back but I'm not sure if they're still following me. Is there a way to check who's not following back?
Noticing a drop in Instagram followers can be frustrating, and it often happens due to inactive accounts, bots, or algorithm changes. Using a follower tracker helps monitor these shifts and identify unfollowers or fake accounts. At the same time, a story saver https://mystorysaver.com/ can be useful for downloading and keeping Instagram stories that might disappear too quickly, letting you view content anytime without missing anything.
It’s annoying when your count drops and there’s no way to tell who disappeared. I started using UnfollowersTracker a couple of months ago and it’s been super useful. It shows you exactly which accounts unfollowed you and when. That kind of clarity made it easier for me to see patterns—like which posts or times of day led to drops. The interface is clean and I haven’t had issues with login or syncing. Definitely helps if you're trying to stay consistent with content and want to monitor reactions without obsessing.
