I was editing some old photos and noticed an annoying watermark on one of them. I tried using an AI tool to remove it, and while it mostly worked, there were still some weird smudges where the text used to be. It wasn’t super noticeable, but if you looked closely, you could tell something was off. I was wondering—how good is AI at removing things like text or watermarks? Does it always leave some traces behind, or can it make it look completely clean?

Removing watermarks and text with AI tools is getting better, but it’s still not always perfect. Sometimes the result looks smooth, other times you can clearly spot where something was edited. I’ve played around with different apps just to see which ones handle these edits more naturally. While searching, I came across this page about apps like Photoleaps (https://skylum.com/blog/apps-like-photoleap) it gave me some new options to test out. Honestly, experimenting with a few different tools helped me figure out which ones feel reliable for quick fixes without making the image look fake.
I hadn’t really thought about using AI for this, but it makes sense. I guess it’s useful if you need to clean up an image quickly. I just wonder if it will ever be 100% flawless, or if professional editors will still be needed for really tricky edits. AI is definitely making things easier, though—it’s crazy how much you can do with just a few clicks now.
That’s a great question! AI is definitely getting better at removing unwanted elements, but it’s not perfect. I’ve used SnapEdit to remove text from images before, and it did a decent job, but sometimes the background didn’t blend perfectly. I think it works best when the text is over a simple surface, like the sky or a plain background. If the text is on a detailed area, the AI has a harder time guessing what should be there. Did you try using manual touch-ups after the AI?
