Hey folks, I’m planning a move across Los Angeles and one of my biggest concerns is my furniture. I have a couple of large pieces like a solid wood dresser and a sectional sofa, and I’m really worried about scratches, dents, or something breaking in the process. I’ve seen people try to do it themselves with friends, but it often ends in damage or even injuries. Does anyone know a good, affordable way to move heavy furniture safely without spending a fortune?

Great question! Moving heavy furniture can definitely be stressful, especially when you want to keep everything in perfect condition. One tip I’ve learned is to use furniture sliders and proper lifting straps, which make a big difference in protecting both your furniture and your floors. When I recently moved my Italian Dining Room Sets, I wrapped each piece carefully with moving blankets and shrink wrap before using sliders — it kept everything scratch-free and safe. Hiring professionals for just the heavy lifting portion can also be affordable and save a lot of hassle.
